Cornmeal porridge

Ingredients

1 cupfine yellow cornmeal
2 cupWater
2 cupMilk (or coconut milk for richer flavor)
0.5 cupSweetened condensed milk (adjust to taste)
1 tspVanilla extract
0.5 tspGround cinnamon
0.5 tspNutmeg
0.5 tspSalt
2 tbspBrown sugar

Method / 7 steps

Step 1

Mix & prepare the cornmeal In a bowl, mix: • 1 cup cornmeal • 1 cup water Stir it into a smooth slurry — this prevents lumps.

Step 2

Heat the pot In a saucepan, bring to a boil: • 1 cup water • 2 cups milk • A pinch of salt • (Optional) Lemon peel

Add the cornmeal mixture Reduce the heat to low

Slowly pour in the cornmeal slurry while stirring constantly to avoid lumps.

Step 4

Cook the porridge Simmer on low for 15–20 minutes, stirring often until thick and creamy. If it gets too thick, add a little milk or water.

Add flavoring Stir in: • Condensed milk • Vanilla • Cinnamon • Nutmeg • (Optional) Sugar Taste and adjust sweetness.
